The global Automated External Defibrillators market size is expected to grow at US$ 49.6 billion in 2027 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.5%.

Automated External Defibrillators Market Overview

Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are medical equipment that diagnose sudden ventricular fibrillation, cardiac arrhythmia, cardiac arrest, or pulseless ventricular tachycardia in order to deliver an electric shock. Heart failure and organ perfusion issues are caused by pulseless ventricular tachycardia, a cardiac arrhythmia in which coordinated ventricular contractions are replaced with extremely quick but ineffective contractions. When used in conjunction with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), AEDs can boost the victim's chance of survival. CPR is a procedure that combines chest compressions and rescue breathing. It is utilized to provide the brain with sufficient blood flow until specialized treatment is available. The American Heart Association claims that providing CPR and utilizing an AED almost doubles the patients' chances of survival. While CPR helps to maintain blood flow, AED helps to maintain a heart rhythm.    The primary factors driving market expansion are technological advancements in automated defibrillators, an increase in the prevalence of cardiovascular illnesses, and growing population ageing. Additionally, the market is growing due to the increased focus on providing public access defibrillators. On the other hand, greater pricing pressure on market players stifles market expansion.

Automated External Defibrillators Market Regional Analysis

North America is the largest region in the market and is predicted to develop at a CAGR of 9.32% by 2030. The US is the primary driver of regional expansion. Due to the frequency of cardiovascular disorders, the introduction of new products, and the presence of major market participants in the US, the market for automated external defibrillators is expanding. Nearly half of all Americans, according to data from the American Heart Association released in January 2019, have a cardiovascular condition, such as hypertension or coronary heart disease, which is predicted to increase the number of cardiovascular patients in the nation and fuel market expansion. Europe is predicted to earn USD 603 million in sales by 2030, with a CAGR of 9.70%. The expanding European AED market is anticipated to receive the majority of its support from Germany and France. The high prevalence of cardiovascular disorders in Germany is the key factor driving the market for automated external defibrillators, together with the introduction of new devices and the country's extensive infrastructure for research and development (AEDs).
