The global Defibrillator Monitor market size is expected to grow from $ 9,985.5 billion in 2021 to $ 14,915.2 billion in 2027 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.9%.
Defibrillators are medical devices that provide an electric shock or pulse to the heart in order to restore normal heartbeat. These are used to prevent or treat arrhythmias, which are abnormally slow or fast heartbeats. Automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, are portable, life-saving medical equipment used to treat victims of sudden cardiac arrest, a condition in which the heart stops beating abruptly and unexpectedly. Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death worldwide, killing an estimated 17.9 million people each year. CVDs include conditions like coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, rheumatic heart disease, and other conditions affecting the heart and blood vessels. More than four out of every five CVD deaths result from heart attack or stroke, with one-third of these deaths happening before the age of 70. About 325,000 adult deaths each year in the United States are due to sudden cardiac death, which is the largest cause of natural mortality. Sudden cardiac death is the primary factor in half of all heart disease deaths.
The expansion of the worldwide defibrillator market can be ascribed to programs for defibrillator training and awareness as well as technological developments related to defibrillators. Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) technology has recently made a number of strides, including better patient monitoring to reduce the need for unnecessary shocks, the introduction of quadripolar lead devices to enhance device programming and therapy efficacy, and the creation of MRI-safe ICDs.
