The global Exoskeleton Robots market size is expected to grow at US$ 2.1 billion in 2027 from US$896.4 million in 2021, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21.5%.
Robotic exoskeletons are wearable ambulatory devices that use hydraulics, rotors, and mechanical structures to move stiff body parts and assist users in carrying out daily duties with high strength and endurance. To detect bio-neurotic impulses from the brain and cause the external skeleton to move in accordance with specific commands, such as sitting, standing, or lifting an object, these devices employ artificial intelligence and sensors. Increased applications in a variety of industries, an ageing population, technical advancements, and a greater scope in the military and healthcare sectors are what are fueling the global market's growth. These suits are expected to be widely used in healthcare applications and to profit from a rising number of rehabilitation clinics. The combination of a worker shortage and the explosive growth of e-commerce has created a significant demand for cutting-edge tools across a variety of industries to boost productivity while ensuring worker safety. This demand has been exacerbated by the strict social distance policies and travel restrictions put in place to stop the spread of the coronavirus. The demand has been a major factor in the acceptance of powered, full-body exoskeletons for use in manufacturing facilities, construction sites, and other challenging situations.
June 14, 2022: FDA Clears EksoNR Robotic Exoskeleton for Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis-
The FDA has granted 501(k) clearance to the EksoNR robotic exoskeleton for use with patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), making it the first such device to be approved for rehabilitation efforts in MS. Previously, in June 2020, the EksoNR robotic exoskeleton was approved for use in those with acquired brain injury and in April 2016 for the rehabilitation of patients with stroke and traumatic brain injury, becoming the first exoskeleton device for both indications.
