In 2022, the global Mobile Power Plant market size was US$ 1053.3 million and it is expected to reach US$ 1455.2 million by the end of 2026, with a CAGR of 4.7% during 2022-2027.

Mobile Power Plant Market Overview

Mobile power plants are generally thermal electric type power plants, in which all the constituent equipment are mounted on a transport vehicle. These are used across applications requiring emergency power or in cases where the power need is temporary. These are mounted on a truck or tracked vehicle, on one or extra trailers, on a self-propelled chassis, or a railroad flatcar. Diesel and gas turbines are generally used as the primary motors for mobile power plants. In addition to the electric generator and primary motor, the equipment also includes the switching apparatus, a complete cable network, a control console, automation, and signaling systems, auxiliary equipment, and spare parts. These power plants offer flexible and de-centralized power generation with a fast provide of electricity to areas with limited infrastructure. These are used in case of occurrence of a natural hazard such as earthquake or floods. Other applications of these are to offer power for exploratory drilling rigs, machinery used in railroad construction and logging operations, and mobile film projectors. These serve as a primary power source at a location far away from central power transmission lines. They also serve as standby sources where other power is ordinarily available. The increasing electrification of remote areas have increased the requirement for mobile power plants to setup the power grids onsite power generation unit. Looking after the investment in done on the growth and improvement of natural gas type mobile power generator. This will be cost efficient and help in remote region electrification.
